On the Road Again

The doctor has cleared me for travel.  The staph infection was cleared with a cocktail of antibiotics and your prayers.  Thanks!

I depart for Southeast Asia on 11 November.  This trip will include training, strategy development, mentoring, and relationship building/networking.

I hope to get back to my regular writing schedule this week.

Blessings!

Grounded for a Time

Last Friday I discovered a bump on my left hand during a training event in Dallas.  Didn't think much about it, but by Sunday evening was ready to visit the emergency room.  My hand was extremely swollen and was fiery red up past my wrist.  I visited my doctor on Monday and he started me out with two different antibiotic injections, two oral antibiotics, and an antibiotic cream.  He also lanced the core of the infection and inserted a wick to help the wound weep its poison.

Germany/Lebanon Trip Report

Thank you for your prayers.  Both training events went very well.  We are looking forward to new partnerships in Europe and the Middle East as a result of these events and the relationships developed.

Blessings!

Community of Believers – Love Your Enemies

One of the greatest distinctives of Christianity is the command to “love your enemies” (Luke 6:27-36 NIV).  We often don’t live out the commands found this passage very well, but when we do, there is a tremendous impact on the Community of Believers and those who would do then harm.  Persecution takes many forms, and as Believers, we are never to respond in kind.

Travel Notice - Germany and Lebanon

I will be traveling for the next two weeks in Germany and Lebanon.  Please be in prayer for these training events, the participants and their families, and all the travel that is involved in these events.

Blessings!

Community of Believers – Love Your Neighbor

In 1967 the Beatles debuted their new song “All You Need is Love” to an international television audience – the first live satellite transmission of a television show.  The lyrics of the song don’t make much sense, but did fit in with the free love theme of the Vietnam era.  The word “love” is an important part of our vocabulary and culture.

Community of Believers – Forgiving One Another

Someone has wronged you.  That person deserves to pay for that wrong.  The wrong has hurt you, disappointed you, frustrated you, and damaged your reputation.  That person deserves payback.  Most would justify your revenge.  But the Way of Christ is to accept the pain as your own, and relate to the person as if the event never happened.  This is forgiveness.

Are You Missing the Mark?

One of the Greek words for “sin” is hamartia (άμαρτια).  The basic meaning of this word is to “miss the mark” in archery.  When most people exegete this word, they usually talk about missing the mark in our moral behavior, or failing to obey God’s commands.  This is certainly part of the meaning.
